Experio Lab in Värmland became a permanent part of the county council in 2017. The lab is part of the regional development unit and belongs to the Department of Development together with the Public Health and Community Medicine Unit. The lab offers competence in design, project management, communication and public health work, and has the task of generating the knowledge and skills to run a more user-driven development programme within the healthcare services.
Another of the lab’s functions is to further develop an environment that is based on a co-creative, experimental and innovative approach. The lab is also assigned with developing the ability to collaborate with other public stakeholders, the private sector, researchers, the idea-based sector and lab environments in other county councils and regions in Sweden. We mainly assist healthcare units in the region to apply a user perspective to improve or create new services that generate greater use and meaning for both patients, family members and staff.
The services of the lab are often used as part of the development of entries, transitions and exits within the healthcare system, and in improving the interaction between patients and staff. We participate in future-focused and explorative projects in order to be able to create cross-border healthcare services and improve the opportunities for individuals to take responsibility for their own health.
Region Värmland was founded on 1 January 2019, when the activities of the organisation expanded from covering only healthcare and dental services to also include regional development and public transport.
